Author guidelines

Tidsskrift for kjønnsforskning publishes articles, commentaries, debates and book reviews. Articles are peer reviewed by two anonymous readers, to ensure a high academic standard.

Gender research is an interdisciplinary field. Thus, articles in Tidsskrift for kjønnsforskning shall be presented in a way that makes it accessible to readers outside of your own discipline.

Submission: manuscripts are to be sent electronically to editorial secretary Toril Enger  toril@kilden.forskningsradet.no and to the editors: and agnes.bolso@hf.ntnu.no and hilde.danielsen@rokkan.uib.no

Manuscript standard for articles: An article in Tidsskrift for kjønnsforskning will usually be aprox. 15 pages in printed version. Manuscripts must be double spaced, font 12, Times New Roman. Use left hand margin only. Use italics for accentuation (not underline or bold). Manuscripts shall not exceed 50 000 characters including spaces.

Article manuscripts shall include: Title, abstract, introductory paragraph, endnotes, references and author information.

Page one shall include authors name, title, place of work, address of work, daytime phone number and e-mail address.

Page two starts with the name of the article and an introductory paragraph of max. 70 words. It should be to the point, short and able to awaken interest. Then follows the main text.
The abstract should be max. 200 words.

Headings and subheadings should not be numbered, and be clearly marked by fonts (do not use capital letters). There should be max. three levels of heading, including main title.

Use endnotes, not footnotes.

Literary references are to be written by the following guidelines: In the text, state the author's surname and year of publication: Moi (1998). If the author is not named in the text, state surname and year of publication in brackets: (Moi 1998). Page number is stated after year of publication: (Moi 1998:26). If there are two authors, state both surnames. If there are more than two authors, state all names at first reference. Subsequently, use «et. al. ». Use semicolon to separate multiple references within brackets.

The list of references should be sorted alphabetically by authors' last name. We want full first names, not just inititals. If the list of references contains two or more works by the same author, sort by oldest work first.
