History
The journal, under the name Kvinneforskning (Research on Women) has existed since 1977. It was previously run by the Secretariat for Women’s Studies in the Research Council of Norway. In 1998 it was taken over by, then newly established, KILDEN. The journal is refereed, but it also contains commentary and book reviews. The editorial board is comprised of representatives from diverse research fields. The editorial board today is made up of two editors, both in a 20 % part-time position affiliated to a research institute, and an editorial secretary who is part of KILDEN’s permanent staff. The journal’s name was changed to Tidsskrift for kjønnsforskning (Journal of Gender Research) from No. 2/2005.
